Jac Schaeffer— Writer / Director

TiMER marks the feature film debut of writer/director Jac Schaeffer (b. 1978). While earning her MFA at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, Jac established her reputation for charming and offbeat material such as the comedic short AVA ELDERBERRY (2003) about a woman who wakes up with a tree growing out of her ear. She also produced FOSTER STORIES (2003), an acclaimed short subject documentary about foster children aging out of the system. As a freelance writer, Jac contributed to a series of humor books including How to Get Fat (2006) and How to Go into Debt (2006). While living in New York, Jac assistant directed Synapse Productions’ Off Broadway revival of MACHINAL (2000). She holds a B.A. from Princeton University where she was a big theater dork. Jac lives in Santa Monica, California and is working on her next feature.
